we have discussed how we can show respect to each other and how to be honest, we brainstormed as a class, below is the list we came up with so that we can have a nice classroom environment:

this term for strand maths we are learning about statistics. Today we did a class survey about family members at home. We discovered if we added mums and sisters together the most family members would be girls!! so looks like girls rule for now!!

On Friday we were lucky enough to get our brand new chrome books!! We were So excited. These chrome books are going to help us become future citizens and have really good technological skills, we will also create a paperless classroom which is good for the environment. our writing focus for term 1 is narrative, as a class we have discussed what a narrative is and come up with our own success criteria, these are the things we need to see in narrative writing.

we have done some artwork around using our imagine and make believe, this ties in with our class chapter book for the term James and the giant peach! which also links in with our science topic, all creatures great and small. Our first art pieces are imagining ourselves as something else!

Room 9 has had some fun with their basic facts, who said maths was boring!!

Room 9 had art day yesterday, the room was a hive of activity, lot's of mess but lot's of fun! these will look great once they are finished and on display.

This term we are swimming everyday, we are lucky enough to have Swim Magic come and teach us the basics for the first 3 weeks! Looks like everyone is having a lot of fun and making great progress!!

welcome room 9 to a new year and a new teacher!! I am really excited to have started here at Glen Innes School. Our first day we spent getting to know one another, asking questions about our families and the children helping me to get to know them. We were lucky enough to have a jumping castle on our first day to ease ourselves back into school!
